THIS WEEKEND! TURNER'S SHOW AT GREEN ROOM 42

About the show:

Alright, folks. Theatre is chocked full of conformist bullsh*t and Turner Riley (Sound of MusicRagtime, Camelot Nat’l Tours) is here-and queer-to unpack ALL of it for you.

A non-binary crusader for the trans community in theatre, join Turner (they/them) for an evening of selections from the trunks of iconic white men (puns absolutely intended) and beyond, personalized like you’ve never seen them before.

With poignant, raw personal anecdotes from Turner’s transition to laugh-out-loud dating tell-alls, interspersed with special guests from Broadway and beyond, Turner Riley: Beyond the Binary will leave you with a pivotal, NOW perspective on the gender ideas of old.

Tickets can be purchased here.

Name Change! Turner Riley

After coming out as Non-binary, I decided to change my name to something that felt more representative of me.

Turner Riley is my new name.

Being in the trans/GNC/non-binary family, there is an, albeit unfair, expectation to have everything about ourselves figured out. This is never fully true for any individual, trans or not. I ask that you be respectful of my name, but also of my privacy.

At the same time, please be aware that this might not be the only change I go through. What feels right today might not feel right in the future. I am giving myself the space to follow what makes me feel happy and validated, and all I ask is you do the same. ❤️

After a short lifetime of battling opiate addiction and burning bridges, Tess Butler is dead. Now, it is up to seven people from her life to come together and decide whether or not she’s worth saving. Trapped in a seemingly normal jury deliberation room, Tess can only bear witness as the jurors reconstruct her life, uncovering secrets, confronting hard truths, and slowly reaching a consensus. Is this the end for Tess Butler, or is there yet a part of her that deserves redemption?

Kate gets a glowing review

After a performance at the Providence Performing Arts Center (playing through Dec. 14th), Kate got quite the shout out in a review!

"Kate Turner, who makes an all-too-brief appearance as the “Lady of the Lake,” Nimue, had my favorite voice of the show: a crystal clear soprano that I wanted so much more of." -Kim Kalunian, WPRO News

What a review for the Marvelous Wonderettes!

A fantastic way to end the season at the Arundel Barn Playhouse and a fantastic review to go with it!

"After an unsuccessful trip to Hollywood hoping to become an actress, Cindy Lou (Turner) returned home to Springfield and fell for the bad boy, Billy Ray Patton. But their love was short-lived as Cindy Lou vulnerably performs in “Son of A Preacher Man” and “Leader of the Pack.”

Legally Blonde Review!

Glowing reviews from both SeacoastOnline.com and in the local Tourist News paper!

Seacoast Online review: "As the fashion-savvy but slightly ditzy Elle, Turner's voice really shines on the show's ballads, where she brings emotion and depth to such numbers as "Take It like a Man" and "Legally Blonde." It's in the second of those two numbers where Turner lets her character's vulnerability shine through, and her voice blends beautifully with that of Reed"

Tourist News: "Arundel Bran Scores with Legally Blonde"

"Kate Turner plays Elle with passion and a powerful singing and dance style, as she transforms her from the empty-headed blonde to the savvy heroine"

By Steve Hrehovick

My Fair Lady Review is in!

Another positive review for My Fair Lady from the Journal Tribune in York County, Maine!

"...kudos go to Kate Turner who plays the part of Higgins’ mother. Her bearing and diction were all that one could ask for."

By Morton Gold, Arts Reviewer

Acacovers

In my spare time, I've taken to a new hobby! Please enjoy these Acapella Covers (which I affectionately call "Acacovers") recorded in my apartment.

"Say Something" originally by A Great Big World (The first experiment, a little lower quality due to a sub-par microphone)

"The Chain" originally by Ingrid Michaelson
